Winter Weather Travel Advisory Issued For Kawartha Lakes And Peterborough

KAWARTHA LAKES-A Winter Weather Travel Advisory has been issued for Kawartha Lakes and Peterborough.

Weather advisory in effect for:

  • Lindsay – Southern Kawartha Lakes
  • Peterborough City – Lakefield – Southern Peterborough County
  • Apsley – Woodview – Northern Peterborough County
  • Fenelon Falls – Balsam Lake Park – Northern Kawartha Lakes

A wintry mix of precipitation is expected beginning this evening. Precipitation will primarily fall as ice pellets or snow and may briefly turn to freezing rain or freezing drizzle at times tonight. Precipitation will transition to light flurries by Friday morning. Areas that have more frequent periods of ice pellets may see lower total accumulations.

2-5 cm of snow and ice is possible in Lindsay and Southern Kawartha Lakes, Peterborough and Southern Peterborough County.  5-10 cm possible in Fenelon Falls, Northern Kawartha Lakes and Northern Peterborough County.

Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Slow down driving in slippery conditions. Watch for taillights ahead and maintain a safe following distance. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery.
