Lindsay Woman Facing Charges After Store Clerk Allegedly Threatened With A Knife

KAWARTHA LAKES-A 28-year-old Lindsay female is facing charges after an incident at a William Street North business.

At approximately 10:10pm on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, officers were called to a business on William Street North for a robbery.

It was reported that a female had entered the store and after an extended period of time and the clerk offered her assistance. Police say the female showed the clerk a knife and made threats.  She then took several items and left the store according to police. Officers attended the area and located a female matching the description given to police and took her into custody.

During a search of the accused, officers say they ocated a knife and stolen property.

As a result of the investigation, 28-year-old Melissa Marren of Lindsay has been charged with robbery with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and possession of property obtained by crime under $5000. The accused was held for a bail hearing and appeared in court on January 26, 2023.
