“Significant” Sum Of Money Returned To Owner After Being Found By Good Samaritan

PETERBOROUGH-A happy ending to a good deed.

Peterborough Police Service says that the found money turned in recently has been returned to its owner.

“The rightful owner was confirmed and identified this week,” says Inspector Jamie Hartnett. “We were happy to return the money to him as it was a significant amount in the thousands.”

The money was found by a customer at a business in the north end of Peterborough on Sunday, December 4, 2022, and turned in to Peterborough Police.

The rightful owner was extremely relieved to have his money returned, thanking those involved in its return including leaving a monetary gift to say thank you to the Good Samaritan according to police.

A good news story just in time for Christmas.
