Municipal Services And Hours Of Operation Over The 2022 Holiday Break

KAWARTHA LAKES-This is the municipal services and hours of operation over the holiday break (December 23 to January 3).

Municipal Administration
Please note all municipal administration offices will close at 12pm on December 23, 2022 and re-open at 8:30am on January 3, 2023. This includes:

  • City Hall
  • Municipal Services Centres
  • Public Works administration
  • Parks and Recreation administration
  • Fire and Rescue administration
  • Paramedic Service administration
  • Provincial Offences Office

Municipal Waste Services
All landfills will be closed on December 25, December 26 and January 1. The Lindsay Ops and Eldon Landfills will be open on December 24 and December 31 from 8am to 12pm.

The Lindsay Ops and Eldon Landfills will re-open to the public on Monday January 2. Please note that, although the two landfills will be open on Monday January 2, the Waste Management administration offices will not re-open until Tuesday January 3.

Reminder: due to the holiday on Monday, December 26, all regular collection days will be moved forward one day during the week of December 26:

  • Monday’s collection will be Tuesday
  • Tuesday’s collection will be Wednesday
  • Wednesday’s collection will be Thursday
  • Thursday’s collection will be Friday

Public Library
All Kawartha Lakes Public Library branches will be closed on Monday December 26, Tuesday December 27 and Monday January 2.

All branches will be open from 10am to 2pm on Saturday, December 24 and Saturday, December 31 with the exception of:

  • Bethany branch will be closed Thursday December 22 to Friday December 30.
  • Kirkfield branch will not be open on December 24 or December 31.

Regular hours for all branches will resume on Tuesday January 3.

Parks and Recreation
The Lindsay Recreation Complex Holiday Weight Room will close at 12pm on December 24 and 31. It will also be closed all day on December 25, December 26 and January 1.

No Fitness classes will take place between December 24 and January 8.

The Forbert Memorial Pool and Workout Centre will be closed December 24, 25, 26, 31 and January 1.

Transit
There will be no Lindsay Transit or LIMO Specialized Transit service on December 25 and January 1. All regular hours will resume on January 2.

Human Services
The Human Services offices will be closed at 12pm on December 23. The office will reopen for regular business hours on December 28 and December 29. On December 30, it will close again at 12pm and it will remain closed until 8:30am on January 3.

Reporting an issue or concern
Should you wish to report an issue or concern over the holiday break, please continue to use our online Report It tool. Cases will still be received online and staff will respond once administration has re-opened. To report an After Hours Municipal Emergency, call 1-877-885-7337.
