Peterborough Man Facing Multiple Charges After Vehicle Lands On Its Roof Along Hwy 115

PETERBOROUGH-OPP officers from Peterborough County responded to a motor vehicle collision on Highway 115 at approximately 5:00 a.m. yesterday morning.

The complainant reported that they observed a vehicle on its roof in the centre median. Minor injuries were sustained in the collision.

27-year-old Jameel Jackson of Peterborough was arrested and charged with:

• Operation while impaired-alcohol and drugs

• Operation while impaired-blood alcohol concentration-80 plus

• Careless driving

• Fail to surrender insurance card

• Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available

The accused had their driver’s licence suspended for 90 days and vehicle impounded for seven days.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on November 16, 2022.

The Peterborough County OPP reminds motorists to plan ahead when consuming alcohol. Use a designated driver, cab, public transit, or stay overnight.
