Two Lindsay Residents Charged With Assault In Separate Incidents Over The Weekend

KAWARTHA LAKES-Two Lindsay residents are facing assault charges after separate incidents over the weekend.

At 5:19PM on Saturday October 1, 2022, Kawartha Lakes Police were notified about an altercation that had occurred on Champlain Boulevard in Lindsay. Police say the suspect and victim who are known to each other became involved in a verbal dispute. During the dispute the suspect allegedly grabbed the victim by the shirt collar, squeezing it tightly around the victim’s neck. The victim attended the Ross Memorial Hospital to be assessed according to police. A 39-year-old Lindsay woman has been charged with assault cause bodily – choke, suffocate or strangle and will appear in court on November 10, 2022. 

On Sunday October 2, 2022 at 7:57PM, police responded to Colborne Street West for a neighbour dispute. Upon arrival, officers learned the victim and a neighbour got into a verbal argument and during the argument, the suspect allegedly began swinging both arms striking the victim multiple times. As a result of an investigation, a 36-year-old Lindsay woman has been charged with assault. 

The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on November 10, 2022.
