Loud Muffler And Improper Lighting Results In Drug Charges For Driver And Passenger

KAWARTHA LAKES-A driver and passenger are facing charges after a traffic stop on County Road 8 on September 28th.

Police say officers stopped a vehicle on Cty Rd 8 near Cty Rd 30 for a loud muffler & improper lighting.  According to police, the driver who was disqualified was arrested while further investigation allegedly revealed the driver and passenger were in poss of approximately 18 gm of cocaine and drug trafficking paraphernalia.

Both the driver and passenger were charged with Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine.  The driver was also charged with driving while disqualified and driving with an improper muffler. The vehicle was impoundeded for 45 days.
