KAWARTHA LAKES-The City of Kawartha Lakes is looking for input from the public on its Active Transportation Master Plan.
The ATMP will aim to provide residents, visitors and those who work within the municipality with safe, equitable and comfortable alternative modes of transportation. According to the municipality, active Transportation typically refers to human-powered, non-vehicular modes of travel that includes walking, cycling (including cargo bikes, hand pedal bikes), rollerblading or roller-skating and scooters and accessibility will be a key consideration for the project.
You can join the conversation and have your say on the City’s Jump-In page by filling out the surveys, viewing the map and reading the documents tab. Community contributions will go a long way in making the ATMP beneficial to the people of Kawartha Lakes.
“This project has been a long time coming and something the community has expressed a great deal of interest in. This round of engagement will help us further identify the unique active transportation-related opportunities and challenges that exist and build out community priorities,” says Jonathan Derworiz, ATMP Project Lead at Kawartha Lakes.
