Cable Cable, Owned By Rogers, Experiencing Complete Outage

KAWARTHA LAKES-Cable Cable in Fenelon Falls which is owned by Rogers says their team was onsite at the main distribution facility until 10:30 PM Friday night to ensure the malfunction causing the outage was no longer causing any residual effects.

Technicians were dispatched at approximately 7:30pm Friday after the company experienced a complete outage of cable, phone and internet services.

“We are currently experiencing an all service outage across our service area,” said the company on Facebook. “We’re not able to update our website or phone message board and our phones cannot take incoming calls at this time. Our response team is onsite to resolve the issue ASAP.”

This comes as Cable Cable parent company, Rogers Communications recovers from a massive, Canada wide outage which saw thousands of clients across Canada, without service for days. It began in the really morning hours of July 8th. The company blamed “network system failure” for the outage.

“To clarify, there is no relation between last night’s (Cable Cable) outage and the Canada-wide Rogers outage from earlier in July.” explained officials on Saturday.

There’s no word on the cause of the Cable Cable outage.

Some services were restored at around 9:30 pm according to Cable Cable, however, there was a residual issue in the network which caused services to be intermittent.

“We sincerely apologize for everyone’s disruption to their Friday night. Thank you to everyone who shared our post to get the word out quickly while our website and phone were inoperable. Our entire response team, including our network, infrastructure, digital engagement and customer services reps, appreciate your patience, understanding and support.”

This story has been updated as services were restored.
