Man Assaulted, Seriously Injured After Home Forcibly Entered In Bancroft

KAWARTHA LAKES-Members of the Bancroft OPP crime unit are investigating the report of a serious assault that occurred in the Town of Bancroft.

On May 18, 2022 shortly after 9:00 p.m. officers from the Bancroft OPP were called to a residence on Gaebel Road. Police located an adult that had been assaulted with a weapon according to police. The injured adult was transported to hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries.

Police say an investigation revealed that three persons had forcibly entered the residence and assaulted an adult with a weapon. The suspects then left the residence on foot.

Members of the Bancroft OPP Crime Unit, OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT), OPP Canine and OPP Forensic Identification Unit were called to the scene to assist in the investigation.

Any person with information regarding the person(s) responsible for this assault with a weapon should immediately contact the Ontario Provincial Police at 1-888-310-1122. Should you wish to remain anonymous, you may call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS), where you may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2,000.
