Municipal Hours Of Operation For The Victoria Day Long Weekend

KAWARTHA LAKES-The holiday weekend is upon us and here is a list of municipal hours of operation and safety reminders:

Waste and Recycling

  • Due to the holiday Monday, waste and recycling collection will be moved one day forward next week.

The following landfills will be open on May 23:

Eldon 11am-5pm

Fenelon 9am-5pm

Laxton 11am-5pm

Somerville 11am-5pm

  • Quick reminder that Leaf and Yard curbside collection starts in two weeks: If your scheduled collection day is on Monday or Wednesday, your spring leaf and yard collection will occur on Friday June 3. If your scheduled collection day is on Tuesday or Thursday, your spring leaf and yard collection will occur on Friday June 10.

Municipal Administration

All administrative offices will be closed on Monday May 23. Regular business hours will resume on Tuesday May 24. Municipal services can be accessed by calling Customer Service at 705-324-9411 during regular operating hours or by calling 1-877-885-7337 for after-hour municipal emergencies.

Parks and Recreation

Saturday

  • No swimming lessons, classes, or Aquafit
  • No fitness classes, however the weight rooms at Lindsay Recreation Complex and Forbert Memorial Pool and Workout Centre will operate under regular hours Saturday May 21 and Sunday May 22, 2022.

Monday

  • No swimming lessons, classes, or Aquafit or public swims
  • No fitness classes

Transit

There will be no Lindsay Transit or LIMO Specialized Transit service on Monday May 23 for Victoria Day. Regular services will be operating over the weekend and will resume on Tuesday May 24.

Public Library

All Kawartha Lakes Public Library branches will be closed on May 23, Victoria Day. For more information about the Kawartha Lakes Public Library, please visit their website.


Remember fire safety this long weekend

Consumer fireworks for Victoria Day are allowed to be set off without a permit, between the hours of dusk and 11pm, on the following days: Sunday May 22, Monday May 23, Tuesday May 24

Trent Severn Waterway will reopen for the season on Friday May 20 at 9am. For details visit their website
