Mariposa Township Resident Facing Impaired Driving Charge

KAWARTHA LAKES-A 31-year-old man from Mariposa Township is facing an impaired driving charge.

On Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at 11:46 pm while on patrol a Kawartha Lakes Police officer stopped a vehicle on Durham Street West in Lindsay. Police say while speaking with the driver, the officer observed signs of impairment. Through investigation, police say the officer determined the driver was impaired by alcohol and placed him under arrest.

31-year-old Patrick Dowson of Mariposa Twp has been charged with operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration 80 plus.

The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay, located at 440 Kent Street West on June 30, 2022.
