A Look Inside The New Visitor Centre At Kawartha Settlers Village

KAWARTHA LAKES-The new visitors centre at Kawartha Settlers Village in Bobcaygeon recently opened to the public. Approximately 75% of the funding came from an anonymous donor. The rest was through the fundraising efforts of the volunteers with the help of the community. Local trades were used during the construction process. A true community effort.

Kawartha Settlers’ Village is now home to a fascinating collection of over 20 historic homes and buildings on Dunn Street in Bobcaygeon. Experience what life was like for pioneers in the Kawarthas as you stroll leisurely through the Village and discover artifacts from 1830 – 1935. Kawartha Settlers’ Village was established in 1990 with the goal to preserve the history and culture of the Bobcaygeon area. Today, the Village is operated by the Kawartha Region Arts and Heritage Society.
