Lindsay Man Arrested In Possession Of Vehicle Stolen From Haliburton Highlands

KAWARTHA LAKES-A Lindsay man is facing charges after police recovered a vehicle stolen from the Haliburton Highlands area.

On April 6, 2022 members of the Kawartha Lakes Police, Street Crime Unit observed a suspicious vehicle parked in the commuter lot on Highway 35 South in Lindsay.

Police say the officer observed a male exit the vehicle and walk away on foot. Officers conducted checks on the single licence plate attached to the front of the vehicle and vehicle identification number. Officers learned the vehicle been reported stolen from the Haliburton Highlands area the previous evening.

Officers arrested the lone occupant who they had seen exiting the vehicle. 33-year-old Troy Sprague of Lindsay is charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5000 and possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 X2.

The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on May 12, 2022.
