KAWARTHA LAKES-Two people are dead following a crash on County Road 121 near Kinmount on Wednesday.
Police say on April 6, 2022, at approximately 4:40 p.m., Haliburton Highlands OPP, along with emergency services, responded to a three-vehicle collision involving two passenger vehicles and a small pick-up truck on County Road 121, south of Gelert Road, in the Township of Minden Hills.
Initially, the collision was believed to be involving two vehicles, but further investigation revealed that there were three vehicles involved.
The driver and passenger of one vehicle were transported to local area hospital where both were pronounced deceased. The driver of the other vehicle was transported to a trauma centre with serious injuries. The driver and passenger in the third motor vehicle did not report any injuries to first responders.
County Road 121 was closed in both directions between Gelert Road and Kinmount for approximately 10 hours while OPP Technical Collision Investigators and Reconstructionists completed their investigation. This road has since reopened.
The identities of the deceased are being withheld pending notification of family.
