Freezing Rain Warning Issued For Fenelon Falls And Northern Kawartha Lakes

KAWARTHA LAKES-Environment Canada has issued a Freezing Rain Warning for parts of Kawartha Lakes for this evening.

Freezing rain warning in effect for:

  • Fenelon Falls – Balsam Lake Park – Northern Kawartha Lakes

Freezing rain is expected or occurring.

What: freezing rain with a glaze to a couple of millimeters accretion.

When: this evening.

Hazard: difficult travel conditions due to slippery roads

Discussion: Freezing rain is expected to develop this evening. The freezing rain risk is expected to end near midnight before changing over to light rain or drizzle.

Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery. Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas. Slow down driving in slippery conditions. Watch for taillights ahead and maintain a safe following distance.
