Three Women Charged With Impaired Driving Over The Weekend

KAWARTHA LAKES-Three women are facing impaired driving charges after incidents over the weekend.

Members of the Peterborough County OPP responded to a motor vehicle collision on Chemong Road at approximately 10:00pm on November 13, 2021. Witnesses reported that the vehicle left the roadway and entered the ditch. The uninjured driver was charged.

Nicole BARKER (age 31) of Port Perry, Ontario was arrested and charged with:

• Operation while impaired-blood alcohol concentration-80 plus

• Operation while impaired-alcohol and drugs

The accused had their driver’s licence suspended for 90 days and vehicle impounded for seven days.

Officers responded to a motor vehicle collision on Graham Road at approximately 11:45pm on November 13, 2021. The vehicle allegedly left the roadway and struck a hydro pole. Police say the driver was found to be under the influence of drugs.

Stephanie MACSUGA (age 27) of Bancroft, Ontario was arrested and charged with:

• Operation while impaired-alcohol and drugs

The accused had their driver’s licence suspended for 90 days and vehicle impounded for seven days.

Police responded to a traffic complaint on Highway 28 at approximately 6:30pm yesterday afternoon. The driver was found to be under the influence of drugs according to police.

Helen SCHNORRBUSCH (age 57) of Scarborough, Ontario was arrested and charged with:

• Operation while impaired-alcohol and drugs

The accused had their driver’s licence suspended for 90 days and vehicle impounded for seven days.

The Peterborough County OPP reminds motorists to plan ahead when consuming alcohol or drugs. Use a designated driver, cab, public transit, or stay overnight. Any amount of alcohol or drugs can impact your ability to make sound judgements.
