Peterborough Police Seize Deadly Blue Fentanyl, Cocaine and Cash In Raid On Park Street North Residence

PETERBOROUGH-The Peterborough Police Service Drug Unit and Emergency Response Team arrested two people after a search warrant was executed at a Peterborough residence Wednesday afternoon.

At approximately 3:00pm on May 26, 2021, officers were approaching the residence on Park Street North when one of the accused was spotted outside carrying a black bag.  Police say when officers approached, he took off on foot, throwing the bag to the ground.  A short foot pursuit ensued including the accused running into a parked car before he was apprehended in a near-by parking lot according to police. The accused was taken to Peterborough Regional Health Centre as a precaution, checked out and released.

As a result of the search warrant, officers say they confiscated:

  • 23.7 grams of Blue Fentanyl
  • 10 grams of Cocaine
  • Quantity of Canadian Currency

Blue Fentanyl is a fentanyl laced with Etizolam which is similar to valium.

44-year-old James McGregor of Peterborough was arrested and charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking- Other Drugs
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000 – in Canada

The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear in court today, May 27, 2021.

The second accused was located inside the residence.  As a result of the investigation, 32-year-old Cheyenne Whetung of Peterborough was arrested on an outstanding warrant, and further charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000 – in Canada

The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear in court today, May 27, 2021.
