KAWARTHA LAKES-Ross Memorial Hospital is currently caring for 11 COVID-19 positive patients.
“All 11 patients were transferred from the Scarborough Health Network.” said Ryan Young, Communications, Ross Memorial Hospital. “Two of these patients are in the ICU, with the remaining nine being cared for in the Respiratory Isolation Unit.”
Young says they are working with hospital partners and partners in the Ontario Health East region to facilitate patient transfers as they are directed by provincial critical care capacity planning tables.
“Ross Memorial Hospital continues to support Ontario Health’s system-wide response to the pandemic to the best of our ability. To support this, RMH has accepted 17 patient transfers to-date.”
Ross Memorial Hospital has expanded capacity adjacent to the ICU to allow for a total of 10 ICU beds.
There were 13 new cases of Coronavirus reported in Kawartha Lakes for Sunday and Monday with 39 active cases currently. The death toll stands at 56.
