Police say on March 23, 2021 the Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), with assistance from the Emergency Response Team (ERT) executed a CA related warrant at a residence on Hickory Beach Road that resulted in the seizure of 2,428 cannabis plants in various states of growth.

Huanya SUN, 36 years of age, of Markham, was charged with the following offences:

  • Cultivate, propagate or harvest more than four cannabis plants, contrary to the Cannabis Act (CA)
  • Possession for the purpose of distributing, contrary to the CA

Dang Hon Xiong, 50 years of age was charged with:

The accused parties are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay on May 20, 2021.
