KAWARTHA LAKES-A Bobcaygeon resident is facing impaired driving charges after a crash on Highway 36.
Police say just after 11:00p.m. on March 19, 2021 officers from the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP were called to the area of Kawartha Lakes Road 36 and Four Points Road in response to a single-vehicle collision.
On arrival, the vehicle was unoccupied but officers located the driver a short distance from the scene according to police. The ensuing investigation resulted in the arrest of the driver and the vehicle was towed from the location. Jeffery Chaston, 58 years of age, was charged with the following offences:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay on April 22, 2021.
