KAWARTHA LAKES-Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsay currently has zero patients admitted with Coronavirus. At one time there were up to seven people in hospital locally with the virus.
Effective Thursday, January 7th, the hospital announced it would supply medical-grade masks for all patients and visitors. Patients and visitors should continue to wear their own cloth mask upon entering the hospital when they will be given a new medical-grade mask at the screening station. This mask must be worn over the nose and mouth throughout the visit.
The number of positive cases of Coronavirus is declining locally. There have only been three cases over the last four days an no new cases of a ‘variant of concern”. There have been two cases of a variant reported in Kawartha Lakes so far.
This is currently 9 active cases of the virus in the City of Kawartha Lakes with the health unit tracking 28 high-risk contacts. There have been 538 cases to date in the City. The death toll stands at 55.
