KAWARTHA LAKES-A Little Britain man has been charged twice in four days, while on probation for other crimes.
Police say on February 26th the City of Kawartha Lakes Police received a report of a break and enter which had occurred on February 25th, 2021. On that date, a male allegedly entered an apartment building on Lindsay Street North in Lindsay. While inside the male used a large knife to attempt to gain access to multiple different locations within the building causing minor damage to property according to police.
As a result of an investigation, 33-year-old Jesse Cook of Little Britain was charged with break and enter with intent to commit and indictable offence X3 and breach of probation.
On March 2,2021 police say the same male was observed on video surveillance at the Lindsay Street North address. While at this location, he used a hammer to destroy a fire extinguisher case and the extinguisher. As a result, 33-year-old Jesse Cook has been charged with mischief under $5000 and breach of probation. At the time of the arrest, the accused was found in possession of a bank card that did not belong to him and has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 and breach of probation.
The accused has been held in custody for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice.
Meanwhile on March 1, 2021 at 10:03am the City of Kawartha Lakes Police received a report of a break and enter from an office on Lindsay Street North in Lindsay. Video surveillance on the property revealed two individuals entering the property on February 28 at 2:08am according to police. Once inside they secured electronics and office equipment inside bags and backpacks. The individuals then left the office and allegedly returned a short time later removing additional items. As a result of an investigation, two males were arrested on March 2, 2021.Â
31-year-old Jason Medina-Hanusiak of Oshawa is charged with, break and enter with the intent to commit an indictable offence, theft over $5000, possession of property obtained by crime over $5000.Â
42-year-old Robert Payne of Lindsay is charged with, break and enter with the intent to commit an indictable offence, theft over $5000, possession of property obtained by crime over $5000 and breach of probation.Â
The accused are held in custody for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice
