Numerous Charges Laid After Vehicle Found In The Ditch Along Highway 7

KAWARTHA LAKES-A 34-year-old woman is facing numerous charges after a police officer reportedly observed her driving into the ditch.

On March 2, 2021 a City of Kawartha Lakes Police officer observed a vehicle travelling westbound on Highway 7, the vehicle was observed as it left the roadway according to police. The officer attended the location and found the vehicle in the ditch.

Police say the officer conducted an investigation and determined that the driver was impaired by alcohol and place under arrest. Shannon Younker of Severn Bridge has been charged with impaired operation of motor vehicle – alcohol and drugs, impaired operation – blood alcohol concentration 80 plus, one Cannabis Control Act offence and three Highway Traffic Act offences.

The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice, located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on May 6, 2021.
