KAWARTHA LAKES-A local man was given Naloxone, a drug to reverse the effects of an opioid overdose, by OPP officers just after midnight on February 10th.
Police say officers with City of Kawartha Lakes detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a local residence to assist the Kawartha Lakes Paramedics.
Upon arrival, officers observed an unconscious male on the floor of the home according to police. A resident was performing CPR. Officers engaged in CPR measures and administered naloxone prior to ambulance personnel continuing life saving measures. The male was transported by ambulance to a local area hospital.
