Snowmobiler Airlifted To Toronto Hospital After Crash

KAWARTHA LAKES-The operator of a snowmobile was transported to a Toronto hospital by air ambulance after a crash with a vehicle.

Police say at approximately 1:15p.m. on February 7, 2021 officers from the City of Kawartha Lakes detachment of the OPP responded to a collision at the intersection of Victory Grove Road and OFSC 103B MSV trail.

Initial investigation indicates that the collision involved a motor vehicle which had been travelling eastbound on Victory Grove Road and a Motorized Snow Vehicle (MSV)which had been travelling northbound on the trail according to police. The OPP‘s Technical Collision Investigation (TCI) unit attended the scene to assist with the investigation.

The operator of the snow machine was transported from the scene via ambulance to a local area hospital and then flown via Air Ornge to a Toronto area hospital. The condition of the injured party was not released.

The investigation is on-going.
