Officials say COVID testing is taking place approximately every five days at the Mclaughlin facility. There has not been any testing conducted for the COVID-19 Variant of Concern or the UK variant. Based on guidance from Public Health Ontario, there are criteria for testing for the VOC and this outbreak does not meet those criteria at this time according to the health unit.
“Even without the testing, the facility has implemented stringent infection prevention and control measures.” Chandra Tremblay, Communications HKPR told Kawartha 411 News.Â
