KAWARTHA LAKES-The Haliburton Kawartha Pine Ridge District Health Unit is reporting five new cases of Coronavirus in the City of Kawartha Lakes today. One additional case was also reported on Saturday.
There is currently 21 active cases of the virus in Kawartha Lakes with the Health Unit tracking 69 high risk contacts. Five people are in Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsay and two on a ventilator. 20 people have been hospitalized to date. There’s been 336 cases of the virus in Kawartha Lakes since the pandemic began.
Officials are reminding residents to wear a mask, wash your hands thoroughly and often, practice physically distancing and stay home if possible.
The health unit will not release the specific areas of the confirmed cases.
