KAWARTHA LAKES-Ross Memorial Hospital says it currently has two patients admitted with Coronavirus and one on a ventilator. Officials at the hospital say both are from the community and were not transferred from another area.
Officials were not able to provide additional information on the age or previous health condition of the patients.
This comes after months with no patients in hospital with Coronavirus locally.
The Haliburton Kawartha Pine Ridge District Health Unit reported 11 new cases of the virus today in the City of Kawartha Lakes, 21 new cases in Northumberland and four cases in Haliburton. There was no report on cases on New Years Day. The health unit will not release the exact locations of the cases.
Two new outbreaks have been reported in Northumberland. One at Hope Street Terrace LTC on December 31 and one at Christian Horizons group home on January 1.
There are currently 27 active cases in kawartha Lakes and the health unit is tracking 54 high risk contacts.
