Local man charged after allegedly being found asleep at the wheel

KAWARTHA LAKES-A local resident was arrested after being found asleep in the driver’s seat of a motor vehicle according to police.

Police say on August 4, 2020, officers from the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP responded to a call from a citizen expressing concern for a person who appeared to be asleep in a vehicle parked on River Road in the Janetville area.

Upon arrival, officers initiated an investigation that resulted in the arrest of Timothy Anderson, 52 years of age, for the Criminal Code offence of operation while impaired – blood alcohol (80 plus).

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay on September 17, 2020.
