Highway 35 near Norland closed after serious crash

KAWARTHA LAKES-Highway 35 in the Norland area was closed in both directions after a serious crash on Tuesday.

Police say at 3:40p.m. officers from the City of Kawartha Lakes detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the collision and have closed Highway 35 near Cameron Road in the Norland area.

Police say the initial investigation indicated that a vehicle travelling southbound on Highway 35 collided with a vehicle travelling northbound on Highway 35. The driver of the northbound vehicle, Samantha Lindquist, 50 years of age, is deceased. The passenger of this vehicle was transported via Air Ornge ambulance to a Toronto area hospital with serious injuries.
