KAWARTHA LAKES-A 23 year old man is facing a number of charges after a vehicle stop in the Bobcaygeon area.
Police say on March 7th an officer from the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP was on patrol in the Bobcaygeon area when a vehicle was observed allegedly being operated in an erratic manner.
The officer subsequently stopped the vehicle and the ensuing investigation resulted in the arrest of the driver, 23 year old Joshua Harrington, of the City of Kawartha Lakes. An officer located approximately 9.4 grams of cocaine, 2 grams of cannabis and a quantity of unknown pills in the vehicle according to police.
Harrington was charged with the following offences:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs, contrary to the Criminal Code
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA)
- Possession of a Schedule IV substance for the purpose of trafficking, contrary to the CDSA
- Disobey stop sign – fail to stop, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay on April 16, 2020.
