Man found laying on the shoulder of the road, vehicle in flames

KAWARTHA LAKES-Police are looking for witnesses after a man was found laying on the shoulder of the road, his vehicle in flames.

Police say on December 15th just before 3:00PM the City of Kawartha Lakes Police Service, along with Kawartha Lakes Paramedic Service and Kawartha Lakes Fire Rescue Service attended Dew Drop Inn Road after a vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree.

A passerby had found the vehicle in flames, with the driver laying on the shoulder of the road a short distance away.  The driver was taken to Ross Memorial Hospital, and later transferred to a Toronto area hospital with serious injuries.  Dew Drop Inn Road was closed to traffic while the Ontario Provincial Police Technical Collision Investigation Unit attended to assist with the investigation.
