KAWARTHA LAKES-The OPP is requesting assistance from the public to identify a suspect after a 73 year old man was allegedly assaulted.
On Friday, December 13, 2019 at approximately 7:45pm, members of the Peterborough County OPP were called to The Ranch Restaurant located at 7810 Highway 7 to investigate an assault that had just occurred.
According to police the 73 year old male victim was in the parking lot of The Ranch Restaurant when he was approached by an unknown male suspect. (originally police said the victim was 70)The suspect pushed the victim to the ground causing serious but non-life threatening injuries.
The suspect fled eastbound on Highway 7 in a black Dodge pick-up truck.
The suspect is described as male, white, 5′ 8″, slim build, 45-50 years old, dark hair and was wearing a green/brown plaid shirt.
Investigators are actively looking for information that may lead to a suspect in this case. Police urge the public to call in tips on this case, or others, to the Peterborough OPP at 705-742-0401, the non-emergency line (888) 310-1122 or to Crime Stoppers.
