KAWARTHA LAKES-The City of Kawartha Lakes OPP charged two people with domestic assault over the weekend.
On August 31, 2019 officers from the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP responded to a 911 call at a residence in Omemee. Police say n arrival, officers determined that a domestic assault had occurred. The investigation resulted in the arrest of a 20 year old local male for the offence of assault, contrary to the Criminal Code.
The female party was transported to a local area hospital as a precaution.
On September 1, 2019 officers from the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP were called to a Verulam Township residence in response to a domestic altercation. Investigation revealed that an assault had occurred and resulted in the arrest of a 52 year old local female, for the offences of assault and assault with a weapon, contrary to the Criminal Code.
