KAWARTHA LAKES-Kawartha Lakes OPP were busy this weekend with suspended drivers.
Police say on July 12, 2019, an officer was on patrol in the area of Washburn Island. A vehicle stop resulted in the local driver, Shannon Madill, 35 years of age, being charged with two counts of driving while under suspension and Breach of Probation order.
On July 14, 2019 an officer allegedly observed a vehicle being operated on Francis Street, East in Fenelon Falls, with an expired validation tag. The officer stopped the vehicle and determined that the driver, Justin Gilfoy, 30 years of age, of Clarington, was suspended from driving and he was subsequently charged with both Highway Traffic Act related offences.
On July 12, 2019 an officer conducted a vehicle stop on Monck Road, with the ensuring investigation resulting in the driver having his licence suspended.
The vehicle was being operated by Nicholas Gulka, 20 years of age, of Oro-Medonte Township, who was a class G2 driver according to police. The investigation involved the use of an approved screening device which registered above zero. The driver was subsequently charged with the offence of Novice driver – B.A.C. above zero, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.
