Purple heroin seized in drug arrest in Peterborough

PETERBOROUGH-A 28-year-old Peterborough man is facing drug charges after police allegedly located and seized a quantity of purple heroin in his possession.

Purple heroin is a mixture of heroin, morphine, fentanyl and sometimes carfentanil, a deadly, large animal, tranquilizer.

At approximately 5 p.m. on March 3, 2019 officers in the area of George Street North detained the accused for investigative purposes. Witnesses say police blocked in a vehicle and took a man into custody.

During the investigation the accused was found to be in possession of a quantity of purple heroin according to Peterborough Police.

As a result of the investigation Christopher Michael Fitzgerald, 28, of Hilliard Street, was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Possession of a schedule I substance (Heroin)
  • Fail to comply with a probation order

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on March 19, 2019.
