Ornge lands on Highway 35 this afternoon

KAWARTHA LAKES- An Ornge Air ambulance landed on Highway 35 this afternoon after a head on crash.

The crash happened at the corner of Highway 35 and Twigg Road at the Port Perry turn off just after 4pm. The highway was closed in both directions for several hours.

At approximately 4:12 p.m. on February 14, 2019, members of the City of Kawartha Lakes detachment of the OPP responded to a two vehicle collision on Highway 35 near Lifford Road. The City of Kawartha Lakes Fire Department also attended the scene, assisting with the extrication of both drivers.

The driver of one vehicle was airlifted, by Ornge, to a Toronto area hospital. The three occupants of the second vehicle were transported from the scene via ambulance to a local hospital.

The investigation is ongoing.
