Local male charged at RIDE program

KAWARTHA LAKES- On February 9, 2019 officers from the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP established a RIDE (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) program on Fingerboard Road.

An officer approached a vehicle as it entered into the RIDE program and the ensuing investigation resulted in the driver, David Woolley, 35 years of age, being charged with

Drive Vehicle with Cannabis Readily Available, contrary to the Cannabis Control Act.The officer seized approximately 14 grams of cannabis.

Police would like to remind drivers that if transporting cannabis, unless otherwise exempt, the cannabis must be in its original package that has not been opened, or packaged in baggage that it is fastened closed or is not otherwise readily available to any person in the vehicle.
