Vehicle being driven in erratic manner leads to alcohol related driving charges

KAWARTHA LAKES-A vehicle stop recently conducted by Kawartha Lakes OPP resulted in the driver being arrested for an alcohol related offence.

Police say on February 10th an officer from the City of Kawartha Lakes detachment of the OPP observed a vehicle travelling on Highway 7 allegedly being operated in an erratic manner. The officer stopped the vehicle and the subsequent investigation resulted in the driver, 27 year old Adam Hockey, of Lindsay, being arrested and then charged with the following offences:

  • Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration 80 Plus contrary to the Criminal Code
  • Driving Motor Vehicle With Unsealed Container of Liquor contrary to the Liquor Licence Act

The vehicle was towed from the scene and the driver received an automatic 90 day driver’s licence suspension.
