Police seize more than $6,000 worth of cocaine in Lindsay

KAWARTHA LAKES-City of Kawartha Lakes Police seized more than $6000 worth of cocaine in a vehicle stop on William Street in Lindsay.

Police say on Friday January 18, 2019 a constable stopped a vehicle travelling on William Street at Kent Street in Lindsay. The officer allegedly observed a male passenger in the back seat of the vehicle who the officer knew was “wanted” on the strength of an outstanding arrest warrant. The officer also observed cocaine in plain view inside the vehicle according to police.

The investigating officer arrested the driver and two passengers in the vehicle, including the “wanted” man. Further investigation led to the seizure of 61 grams of cocaine worth an estimated $6100.00.

The “wanted” person was also found to be in possession of a cheque that had been reported stolen to the City of Kawartha Lakes Police Service.

Charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 is 19-year-old Jordan Ronald Marshall of Lindsay, 19-year-old Emma Bell of Lindsay and 29-year-old Mackenzie Kirkwood of Lindsay. Kirkwood was also charged with an additional count of possession of property obtained by crime under $5000.
