KAWARTHA LAKES-Here’s a list of municipal offices and services that are open or closed and their hours over the holiday’s.
All municipal administration offices will be closed as of December 24, 2018 and will re-open for regular business hours on January 2, 2019. This includes:
- City Hall
- Municipal Service Centres
- Public Works administration
- Parks, Recreation and Culture administration
- Fire and Rescue administration
- Paramedic Service administration
- Provincial Offences Office
Waste Services
There will be no curbside waste and recycling collection on Christmas Day (December 25) or New Years Day (January 1). Please note the following changes for curbside collection:
- December 24 (regular waste and recycling collection)
- December 25 (no curbside collection)
- December 25, 26 and 27 (curbside collection moves one day forward)
- December 31 (regular waste and recycling collection)
- January 1 (no curbside collection)
- January 1, 2, 3 (curbside collection moves one day forward)
All City landfills will be closed on December 25, December 26 and January 1. The Fenelon Landfill, Lindsay Ops Landfill and Somerville Landfill will be open on December 24 and December 31 from 9am to 1pm.

Recreation facilities and fitness centres
All Community Centres and Arenas will be closed on December 25, December 26 and January 1. All Community Centres will close at 12:00pm on December 24 and December 31. On December 27, December 28, December 29 and December 30 all Community Centres will be open for regular business hours.

Lindsay Transit
There will be no Lindsay Transit service on December 25 and January 1.
Municipal Law Enforcement
The Municipal Law Enforcement (MLE) division will be open from 8am to 3:30pm from December 23 to December 30 and from 8am to 11:30am on December 24 and December 31. The MLE division will be closed on December 25, December 26 and January 1.

Human Services
All Human Services offices in Lindsay (322 Kent Street West and 37 Lindsay Street South) and in Haliburton (49 Maple Avenue) will be closed December 24, 25 and 26. All offices will re-open for regular business hours on December 27 and 28. All offices will be closed December 31 and January 1 and re-open for regular business hours on January 2.
Kawartha Lakes Public Library
All Library branches will be closed December 24, 25, 26, 31 and January 1.
Library branches will be open for their regularly scheduled hours from December 27to December 30.
