Break And Enter Investigation In Haliburton Results In Recovery Of Alleged Stolen Property And Two Arrests

HALIBURTON- Haliburton Highlands OPP and City of Kawartha Lakes (CKL) / Haliburton Highlands Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) made two arrests following an investigation into two reported break-and-enters in the County of Haliburton.

Police say on April 12 members of the Haliburton Highlands OPP were at a residence in Haliburton and observed property and a vehicle related to prior reported break and enters in the County of Haliburton. Police say the vehicle was seized, and a search warrant was obtained resulting in the recovery of stolen property.

Through this investigation, two people were identified and later arrested according to police.

All charges against 32-year-old Katlyn Hollands of Haliburton were withdrawn.

32-year-old Joseph Bell of Peterborough has been charged with:

·        Possession of stolen property under 5000

·        Possession of stolen property over 5000

·        Fail to comply with probation order (2 counts)

This accused was held for a bail hearing.

Police say the investigation is ongoing and investigators are asking that anyone with any information and have not spoken to police to contact Haliburton Highlands OPP at 705-286-1431 or the OPP Provincial Communications Centre at 1-888-310-1122.
