UPDATE: City of Kawartha Lakes OPP investigating after pedestrian killed

UPDATE:Police now say the victim was hit in the Joyland Beach area and then moved to a residence.

KAWARTHA LAKES-The City of Kawartha Lakes OPP is investigating after a pedestrian was killed in the area of Ramara Township.

On June 17, 2018 at approximately 4:15 am emergency services personnel, including officers from the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP responded to a 9-1-1 call at a residence in Carden Township.

Investigation indicates that the victim, 19 year old, Lucas DUNLOP of Sebright had allegedly been struck by a vehicle at a Joyland Beach location earlier that night. He was initially transported to a residence where his condition deteriorated and emergency services were called. The victim was pronounced deceased at the residence.

Police have identified and seized the vehicle thought to be involved in the incident. The investigation is continuing under the direction of Detective Inspector Scott Moore of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB).
