KAWARTHA LAKES-A Lindsay man found out the hard way about the dangers of texting and driving on Friday.
Shortly after 1:00 pm on Friday, August 18th a patrol officer spotted a man texting on his cell phone while he was driving. The officer stopped the man and asked for his drivers licence which was allegedly found to be under suspension. However that was just the beginning of the man’s problems. Police say when handing over his licence the officer got a little extra in the form of a fentanyl patch stuck to the licence. This prompted a search of the man who police say was found with a pair of brass knuckles in the man’s pant pocket, more fentanyl, two cell phones and a quantity of cash.
38 year old Andreas Tzadimas of Lindsay was detained in custody on charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance For the Purpose of Trafficking (fentanyl), Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000, Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon, Fail to Comply with Probation Order and Driving while under Suspension.
