The names of two men killed in a fiery crash on the 401 near Port Hope have been released by the OPP.

Police say 26 year old Todd Gardiner of Newcastle, Ontario and Michael Glazier age 35 of Guelph were travelling together in a Chevy pickup truck at the time of the collision and were killed.

It happened on the eastbound lanes of Highway 401, just east of County Road 28 on August 3rd just after 10pm. An eastbound tractor trailer collided with 2 other eastbound passenger vehicles resulting in a fire according to police.

Both east and westbound lanes of the highway are closed from Toronto Road in Port Hope to Burnham St. in Cobourg for hours while the OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators were probing the cause of the crash.
