Here’s what’s open and closed this holiday weekend

KAWARTHA LAKES-Here’s whats open and closed this holiday weekend in the City of Kawartha lakes.

Waste and Recycling

Collection of waste and recycling in Kawartha Lakes will be pushed back one day during the week of August 7. If your collection date is usually Monday, it will be moved to Tuesday; if it is normally Tuesday, it will be Wednesday, and so on.

Landfills in Kawartha Lakes will be operating on Monday, August 7 as follows:

  • Eldon – 11am to 5pm
  • Fenelon – 9am to 5pm
  • Laxton – 11am to 5pm
  • Lindsay Ops – Closed
  • Somerville – 11am to 5pm

Kawartha Lakes landfills will return to regularly scheduled hours on Tuesday, August 8. For more information about landfills, visit www.kawarthalakes.ca/wasteandrecycling.

Public Library

All branches of Kawartha Lakes Public Library will be closed Monday, August 7 and will return to regularly scheduled hours on Tuesday, August 8. For more information about regular branch hours, please visit the library website at www.kawarthalakeslibrary.ca.

Municipal Service Centres

Municipal Service Centres will be closed on Monday, August 7 and will reopen Tuesday, August 8 at 8:30am.

Parks, Recreation and Culture

The Parks, Recreation and Culture facilities will be closed August 7. Programs, such as camp, fitness and swimming, do not run on the holiday.

City Administration

All administrative offices will be closed on Monday, August 7 and will return to regular business hours on Tuesday, August 8.
