Man allegedly trying to resist arrest, found with drugs

PETERBOROUGH-An early morning disturbance in the area of George and Charlotte Streets has lead to a number of charges for a 33 year old man.

Several police officers were dispatched to the area of George and Charlotte Streets for an incident between the accused and other persons just before 3am on Wednesday.

The accused was arrested at the scene and initially charged with causing a disturbance. Following the arrest, which the accused resisted according to police, he was allegedly found to be in possession of of crack cocaine, a large amount of cash and drug paraphernalia.

33 year old Shan Patel of King Street, Peterborough, is charged with causing a disturbance, resist peace officer,  possession of a scheduled I substance for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine), possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000.
