KAWARTHA LAKES-The Lindsay Downtown BIA has unveiled its new Gift Card as a way for people to show their support for local businesses in time for the holiday season.
The new Lindsay Downtown Gift Card is available to buy in person and online, and can be spent at an array of local businesses including more than 80 shops, restaurants, and services. These cards can be loaded with amounts starting from $10. Both physical and digital versions of the Lindsay Downtown Gift Card are available. The launch of the card is the next phase of support for downtown businesses, following the popular paper downtown gift certificate program used in initiatives such as the Holiday Passport and other giveaways.
“We’re thrilled to launch our Lindsay Downtown Gift Card ahead of the holidays, providing tangible support for our downtown businesses during the busiest shopping season,” said Melissa McFarland, Executive Director of the Lindsay Downtown BIA. “Our paper gift certificates were popular, but there was a lot of administration behind them, which made promoting sales to the public difficult. The new Lindsay Downtown Gift Card is easy for businesses to accept, easy to spend and, importantly, easy for people and organizations to buy as gifts during the holidays and beyond.” McFarland adds: “This is a card that organizations can use to reward their teams with the gift of Lindsay Downtown. It’s a card that residential developers can use as welcome gifts to help new residents discover their new downtown. And it’s a card that is good for occasions throughout the year, from saying happy birthday to happy holidays and everything in between, while the physical and digital options cater to a variety of needs.”
Burns Bulk Food is one of the businesses accepting the new card. Owner Reese Burns, commented: “Burns Bulk Food is a family-owned business that specializes in way more than just bulk food. We’re looking forward to the launch of the Gift Card program because we love the convenience it will offer our customers. The idea of a universal Gift Card is great because when given as a gift it gives the recipient the freedom of choice to try out any of the great businesses downtown, and hopefully discover something new to them.”
