KAWARTHA LAKES-Officers with the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP arrested and charged an Oshawa woman after motorists report a possible impaired driver on County Road 8.
On Monday August 24, 2026 at approximately 3:08 pm officers were dispatched to a possible impaired driver due to observed driving behaviour by other motorists. The motor vehicle was westbound on County Road 8 near Martins Road in Verulam Township. Prior to police arrival the motor vehicle was involved in a collision according to police. The driver was arrested and charged with impaired driving related offences under the Criminal Code of Canada and Cannabis Control Act offences. There was no injuries from the minor collision.
A 49-year old woman from Oshawa was charged with Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs and Drive Vehicle or Boat with Cannabis Readily Available
The accused are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay at a later date. The drivers licence was suspended for 90 days and the motor vehicle was impounded for 7 days.
